If you purchase a cut tree, make sure you recycle it.  Remember, trees must have all tinsel, decorations and the tree stand removed.  You can not recycle flocked trees.  Holiday wrapping paper and ribbons are NOT recyclable.

Tree Drop Off Locations:  Three landfills serving the region will accept trees for recycling.  Customers will be charged a fee.

Cold Canyon Landfill
Cold Canyon Landfill is located about 6 miles south of the City of San Luis Obispo on Highway 227.  The hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Sunday.   The landfill is closed on major holidays.  For more information from Cold Canyon Landfill, please call 549-8332.

Chicago Grade Landfill
Chicago Grade Landfill is located 4 miles northeast of Atascadero off of Highway 41.   The landfill is open Monday through Friday (7:30 AM to 3:00 PM), Saturday and Sunday (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM).  For more information from Chicago Grade Landfill, please call 466-2985.

Paso Robles Landfill
The Paso Robles Landfill is located 8.5 miles east of Paso Robles off of Highway 46 East.   The landfill is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (closed Sunday).  For more information from Paso Robles Landfill, please call 238-2028.
