LANDFILLS AND TRANSFER STATION
Within the Member Jurisdictions of the IWMA are three landfills:
Cold Canyon, Chicago Grade and Paso Robles, and the Nipomo Transfer Station.
These facilities not only accept waste for disposal, but also provide recycling
opportunities for the users.
Portions of the landfill tipping fee help
to fund some of the programs offered to you by the Integrated Waste Management
Authority.
Cold Canyon Landfill
Cold Canyon Landfill is located about 6 miles south of the City of San Luis
Obispo on Highway 227. The hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
Monday through Sunday. The landfill is closed on major holidays.
Cold Canyon Landfill accepts the following items for recycling:
Scrap Metal
Glass
Plastic Containers
Newspapers
Cardboard
Mixed Paper
Appliances (fee applies)

Chicago Grade Landfill
Chicago Grade Landfill is located 4 miles northeast of Atascadero off of
Highway 41. The landfill is open Monday through Saturday (7:30 AM
to 3:00 PM), and Sunday (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Recyclables accepted
at this landfill include:
Newspaper
Cardboard
Aluminum
Tin Cans
Glass Bottles
Plastic Containers
Refrigerators (fee applies)
Green Waste (fee applies)
Tires (fee applies)

Nipomo Transfer Station
The Nipomo Transfer Station is located one-half mile west of Highway 101,
at 325 Cuyama Lane (Highway 166) in Nipomo. The transfer station
is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (closed Sunday and
major holidays).
Recyclables accepted at the transfer station include:

Aluminum
Tin Cans
Glass Bottles
Plastic Containers

Paso Robles Landfill
The Paso Robles Landfill is located 8.5 miles east of Paso Robles off of
Highway 46 East. The landfill is open Monday through Saturday
from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (closed Sunday and major holidays). Recyclables accepted at
the landfill include:
