Curbside recycling is one of the easiest and cost effective ways
that we can recycle our natural resources and reduce the amount of garbage
going to the landfills. By placing that aluminum can or newspaper
in the recycling bin you can make a difference. In 1995, the region
diverted 33% of the waste from our landfills.
Residential curbside recycling is offered in almost all communities
throughout San Luis Obispo County. In some communities the company
that provides garbage service also provides recycling services, while in
other communities different companies provide garbage and recycling services.
The table below indicates which communities have curbside recycling, who
is the service provider and what materials can be placed at the curb.
For specific information on the program in your community, such
as collection days or how to sign up, please call you service provider.

- Food and beverage containers should be rinsed to avoid odors and
bugs.
- Remove beverage caps from plastic bottles.
