The IWMA offers the following free school
based education programs to teachers and community groups throughout
San Luis Obispo County.

Field
Trips
Take your class or community group to the landfill and recycling facility
that serves your community. The minimum age for field trips is third grade.
All programs are based upon the California
Academic Science Standards. Concepts included in the programs are:
Conservation of Natural Resources, Energy, Landfill and Recycling Technology
and Buying Recycled.
School
Compost and Garden Program
Turn your school's lunch waste into valuable compost which will grow flowers
and vegetables in your existing or new school garden. IWMA staff
will evaluate your school, develop a compost and garden program with your
faculty member and school custodian. This program provides great
hands-on science for students of all ages. Call 782-8424 for details.

"The Rotten Truth"
(Grades 3-8) - Covers natural resources, recycling, landfills, decomposition.
(30 minutes)
"Wormania!" (Grades
K-4) - Features close-ups of worms, how they break down organic material
and worm reproduction. (26 minutes)
