Having fun at a restaurant, concert or festival does not have to result in a sea of trash!

AB 619 was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on July 12, 2019.

While significant advancements have been made to create recyclable single-use products, few single-use containers are recyclable and in SLO County single-use containers are NOT compostable.  The solution is to not create any waste to begin with.
AB 619 removes this restrictive provision and gives vendors the option to serve food and beverages in multi-use washable containers, which saves money, protects the environment, responds to shifting consumer preferences, and markets their efforts to reduce waste.
